SSL stands for Secure Socket Layer. This is an encryption mechanism implemented in your browser. Therefore, all transmissions from your computer (or that of your customers) to us are encrypted.

The browser displays "No secure connection"

This message appears if you have implemented our widget on your website and your domain does not have a secure connection.

You will recognise an encrypted connection if you have a https:// in front of your domain.

Our widget (course plan) has this encryption. This means that the data that is forwarded to us is encrypted. Your customer will see this message because your website is not encrypted (no SSL certificate).

You can either purchase an SSL certificate for your website or use the external link to your shop  which also has a secure connection.

Basically, the data that is sent to us is always encrypted. This means that as soon as the process with the purchase button is completed, the data is encrypted and sent to us. Thereby, it does not matter whether the widget is built into a page that does not have an SSL certificate.

However, there is a time window on an unencrypted website in which data can theoretically be compromised if someone unlawfully gains access to (“hacks”) your website during the period between entering the data and completing the purchase process. The emphasis here is on "theoretical" because this is extremely rare. As already mentioned, you can only completely exclude this with the help of your own SSL certificate.

With many domain providers the SSL is included free of charge and only needs to be activated. It is best to simply contact your provider here.
